Lazzaro Designs (on retainer with The Brooklyn Hospital Center) recently collaborated with Mount Sinai Health System to produce an ad campaign and brochures highlighting the hospitals’ new clinical partnership that brings comprehensive cardiac care to a large segment of Brooklyn that previously didn’t have easy access to this level of care.
Maryellen also designed campaign postcards to referring physicians and to prospective patients (the latter, shown here) for distribution to TBHC’s primary and secondary service areas. She also designed collateral for the joint venture reception that took place at TBHC.
However, the most interesting part of the campaign was capturing an original image to reflect Downtown Brooklyn with its quintessential array of people. Rather than scouting on site, Maryellen used google map’s virtual tour feature to identify the ideal street and cross street to photograph as well as to identify the angle the photographer was to shoot. On the day of the shoot, the photographer took multiple shots of peeps (dog walker, bicycle rider wearing a helmet, senior couple) and we seamlessly photoshopped them into the final image. We also added a lot of leaves in the trees since many had already fallen and removed the trash from garbage containers!
“When Kim and Maryellen suggested my using an infographic to increase my social media presence, they took the time to explain the whole concept and also gave me different options that were suited for my business. They stayed on top of the project keeping in mind all the deadlines. They walked me through the whole process diligently and patiently and made all the required changes in a timely fashion. The personal attention and direction that they provided helped me to keep the focus over the several weeks of this project. I could not have better support. They are extremely resourceful, professional and know their stuff. I will always go back to Kim and Maryellen and would highly recommend them.”

Of course it is! Take advantage of the Valentine’s Day month to focus or enliven your communication strategies. We have helped a multitude of clients publicize how they raised heart health awareness (see top image in a hospital employee newsletter), launch an important heart health initiative (see middle image, a postcard campaign for a hospital’s new neighborhood cardiovascular office) and feature heart health tips in a community publication (see bottom image), among others, and all during the month of love.
Tip: Keep in mind that the US Department of Health and Human Services has designated a number of national health observances, more than one for every single month! Check out this site for a current complete calendar and lots of inspiration for communication efforts.
Connecticut Choice Realty came to Flodin/Lazzaro seeking a way to increase its presence on social media. We advised them to think outside the box and consider an infographic, a contemporary tool to interact with audiences on line.
Lazzaro Designs created the infographic shown here, which features a striking avatar of the agency’s owner, playing up on the client’s unique and memorable name. This character will reoccur in future marketing vehicles. The infographic also presents a helpful timeline for prospective sellers to ready their home for market. Flodin/Lazzaro further guided Connecticut Choice in posting the infographic on various sites, along with providing introductory copy to those posts.
The visual was deliberately designed in a modular format so that it was easy to reconfigure onto a printed postcard that was snail-mailed to key catchment areas. The infographic with all its fresh elements sets the company apart from its competitors in a memorable and valuable way.
